Family Sunday at the “Mainzer WinterZeit” markets

For the first time this year, there will be a Family Sunday at the Mainz WinterTime markets with lots of activities, offers, and special experiences:

Family Sunday on December 14, 2025, in the castle courtyard will offer various activities and offers for children from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On stage, there will be colorful face painting – free of charge and with lots of imagination. Whether tiger, fox, or unicorn: here, children can transform themselves into little winter creatures and immerse themselves in the festive world.

The children’s carousel next door will offer discounted rides on Family Sunday.

Another highlight is the Teddy Clinic, a student project that aims to help children overcome their fear of visiting the doctor. Injured stuffed animals are examined and treated together here.

To warm up, there will be children’s punch available at half price this Sunday at IC Heißgetränke (stand no. 64-07) and Weingut Janz (stand no. 64-03).

Hopfen & Knödelglück (booth no. 11-10) will once again be at Schillerplatz this year, treating young guests on Family Sunday to a children’s portion of Spätzle at a special price of €4.50.

Children’s punch and hot chocolate are also available at a reduced price at the “Bodegas Ibericas Genießer-Hütte” (stand no. 11-09).

A special treat awaits the little ones at the hop garden on December 14 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: The Rasch fairground operators are inviting visitors to enjoy an hour of free rides on the carousel. To go with this, Laurenz Weinhandlung (stand no. 34-04) is offering fruit punch (non-alcoholic) at half price.

On the forecourt of the main train station, children can enjoy children’s punch and cocoa for only €0.50 at the “Glühwein-Gleis” (stand no. 41-08).
