Marienborn Christmas market

Once again this year, the annual Christmas market will take place at the Catholic pilgrimage church of St. Stephan Im Borner Grund.

After the opening by the head of the village, Dr. Claudius Moseler, visitors can look forward to 14 stalls with a variety of products ranging from homemade gifts to waffles and crêpes, sweets of all kinds, Italian and Turkish specialties, chips and bratwurst, mulled wine and punch.

The highlight of the Christmas market is the traditional St. Nicholas procession organized by Treffpunkt Marienborn, which starts at 6 pm in Kardinal-von-Galen-Straße. Led by St. Nicholas and accompanied by the Mainz-Marienborn Music Society, children and parents walk through the town before each child is presented with a “sweet bag” by St. Nicholas.
